Hey guys!

My name is Meaghan Fileti and I am going to be a senior next year at Smith.  I'm from southern California and I'm majoring in Economics and minoring in Exercise and Sports Studies. I've been playing lacrosse at Smith for the past 3 years and will be playing next year as well.  This year I am hoping to also be apart of the basketball team.  I've watched the team grow over the last 3 years and I really admire the positivity and team chemistry the team has.  I'm currently interning with the Boston Red Sox and if any one is going to be around Boston this summer we should get together and play some basketball! I know all the returners on the Smith Basketball team but would love to meet all the incoming first years!

Hey Everyone!

My names Alexandra Williams but everyone calls me Alex. I'm an incoming freshman and I can't wait to be playing with you guys this coming season :) I'm from Springfield,MA which is like a half hour away from Smith so not far at all. This summer I'm playing basketball in a womens pro-am league we have in Springfield. We have one game and 4-5 practices a week so I'm definitely getting ready for the season. I'm also working at Cold Stone at Six Flags New England. Besides that and just hanging out with my friends, thats pretty much my whole summer. Can't wait to meet you all :)

hope summer is treating all of you well! it has been raining way too much for my liking recently, but finally it is beautiful here.

I assume a lot of you have jobs/other things to keep you busy, which hopefully includes something basketball-related...found any good games? at smith there's a group of older guys that play in the evenings, which can be pretty funny- as soon as I'm done with my research I'll be able to join them. In the meantime, it's been 1-on-1 for me.

Hey Everyone!
Its nice to see everyone relaxing this summer. For those who don't know, my name is Marissa. I can't wait to see the team again at Smith. My summer has been great since I recently went to Hawaii to visit my older brother. It was a lot of fun. I went hiking, saw the Hangover 2, went to the beach everyday, and went clubbing at night. Since I have been back, I'm starting to play basketball and lift again. I am ridiculously sore from lifting by the way. I am recently in the process of  regristering for a summer course at a local college and I am working on weekends for a catering company. I miss you all very much! : ) I can't wait to be back at Smith for the Fall semester.

Basketball is a CONTACT sport

So I have found a group of lunch time legends to play with at my YMCA in Jacksonville. Its hit or miss on the talent level, but its usually pretty competitive. I'd been up there the last few days, and I was finally getting to know the guys. But today tragedy struck. I was running the floor and wasn't looking for the ball (I know, bad plan) and someone pulled a Lizzy and threw the ball down the floor for me to run after. They hollared my name, so I turned around to find the ball. I caught it and was ready to take off. Except there was a small guy who's head happened to be right where my head went as I turned. We wacked heads pretty hard. I said I was fine and kept playing, only to realize my head was gushing blood. Long story short, I went to the doctor. I didn't get stitches though. Now a days they just glue cuts back together.

Hey guys

So for people who don't know me my name is Lizzy, and I'm going to be a junior in the fall. I recently got back from a vacation to San Francisco where I went to my brother's graduation and then went hiking in Yosemite where it decided snowing was a good idea. Not fun. But otherwise it was great. This summer I'm going to be working at a drop-in day care center. It's the same place I worked last year, but I get to do it full time this summer. That doesn't start until Thursday though so I've been spending my days like Squid and Rosa... watching TV! Currently I'm trying to finish Smallville and then I think I might go back to watching Friday Night Lights. But I'm not sure yet. So yeah that's my summer in a nutshell.

Home Sweet Home

Hey ladies. I hope everyone is having a good summer. I know my summer just got a lot hotter. I got home to Florida today. Track season was a great success, but I am glad to be home. I start work next week and couldn't be more excited. I missed my sister's college graduation last weekend, but will get to see my brother's high school graduation this weekend. I've got a lot of unpacking to do between now and then. Somehow at college, you acquire so much stuff!

This is week one of the summer work out program and I was just wondering how it was going for everyone. I know there were some questions about lifts-the SC lift in particular. Did anyone figure out what that one is?

Hey, my name is Sydney (Im sure in due time you will all hear my other nicknames). I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far! I miss you all a lot. So far this summer, similar to Rosa, I have been very productive. I completed seasons 1 & 2 of Glee in a week!... This past tuesday I started one of my two jobs as the assistant coach to my old aau team. Its pretty awesome because I just basically scrimmage against them and I get to go their tournaments... For my more serious job I will start working at my moms office in the beginning of June. I cant wait for the fall to see everyone again and meet all of you first years!

Hi everyone miss you all so much. For those of you who don't know, my name is Rosa. I love Smith Basketball!!! I can't wait for the season to start again (after volleyball which will hopefully be a little more successful this year haha). I am starting work this weekend, which will be good since I've just watched Lost for the past 2 weeks... but I can't wait to start working out as well. I hope everyone is having a good summer! Hey Ladies

Hi guys. Its Amanda here. I am a soon to be junior on the basketball team. As finals start winding down, the team slowly leaves campus to get back to our homes and families. I've got to wait a few more weeks before I make the trek down to Florida. In addition to playing basketball, I run track and we've got a few more meets before the season ends.
This summer I am going to be splitting my time between Florida and Massachusetts.  I am interning at a wedding planning group in Florida for the first two months, then nannying for a family with two kids outside of Boston during August. I will find plenty of time to do my basketball workouts too.
This was an amazing year, both on and off the court. I truly love each and everyone of you. I can't wait to get back to together in the fall and welcome all of the new additions to our team. If you guys, both returners and incoming first years, want to post a short entry about yourself and what you'll be doing this summer, we can turn this blog into something great :)
